My 2011 Year in Blogging

Happy New Year everyone!

2011 was a great year, full of ups and downs. This is really the year that my blog took off and I have a lot of people to thank for that, most of all my readers! I’d like to go over my top posts of the year, including some other fun stats that were provided for me via WordPress.

Crunchy Numbers

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 41,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 14 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

#5 Mean Girls

This wasn’t one of the finer moments of my year, but I felt it was important for me to express how I was feeling at the time. I’ve since forgiven and I now understand where people were coming from and I hope they understand how I felt about it as well. I’ve finally accepted who I am and I’ve learned to love myself. I need to be more open and not keep my guard up. I’ll cherish this lesson for the rest of my life.

#4 World of Warcraft: A Disney Perpective

This was one of my more fun posts. Sometimes you just need to stop talking about the competitiveness in WoW and just have some good ol’ fashion fun! I had some great help with this post and I couldn’t have come up with the idea if it wasn’t for Vik from the Leetsauced Podcast! Also a shout out to Anne Stickney at WoW Insider for a spot on The Daily Quest feature!

#3 PTR Patch 4.3: Priest Buffs and Druid Nerfs

This post was made shortly after Patch 4.3 hit the PTR. My initial speculation was that the Druid nerfs were justified because our output was a bit out of control in 4.2. But this was also assuming that we would still scale well in 4.3 and that encounters would continue to favor our type of healing. Alas, this point of view did not last long with me and soon  I became frustrated. On the other side of the pond, Priests received a much-needed buff to Divine Hymn to bring them back in line with providing utility. Little did we know the new and improved Divine Hymn completely blows Tranquility out of the water.

#2 Transmogrification: Vanilla and BC Tier Fashion for Priests

I made this post soon after Transmogrification was announced for Patch 4.3. I utilized the WoW Model Viewer for screenshots and created an easy-to-use resource of old-school Priest looks. I really have to credit Dawn Moore, the Spiritual Guidance writer from WoW Insider for featuring me a few times. I have to say that she and Derevka from Tales of a Priest were the two writers who inspired me to start WTS Heals. Thanks so much!

#1 Do You Use Lifegrip in Raids? No? Well You Should!

I created this post back when Leap of Faith was still very new to the Priest toolbox. I actually got the idea from hearing people say how useless the ability was for PvE content and I couldn’t disagree more, so I created a list of boss encounters where Lifegrip could end up saving the day! And even tho my list was created for T11 content, I believe the viability of Lifegrip still holds true today. Don’t underestimate it’s usefulness.
